  • What does a membership entail?

Once you become a member, you become part of the Golden Arts Society family.  We've dedicated our efforts to bring you evenings full of talent, interest, and conversation.  2018 membership includes 3 Golden Society evenings, the second Saturday of each month, as well as a bonus evening in December (Wednesday, Dec 12).

Single memberships allow you to participate in these evenings alone. Dual memberships means that you can come and also bring a guest of your choice.

Premium memberships (only 5 available) also include the guest pass, but include reserved seating of your choice and an 6:30PM pre-event champagne reception where you can meet the artist and eat delicious food.  If you want, you will also be listed and thanked as premium members on the website and program.

  • Why does it cost $ and where does that $ go?

We believe that humans have a feedback loop - people invest in things they care about, and people get more out of the experience if they feel invested.  We also believe in artists getting paid for their work.  The membership fee goes the cost of producing these evenings - which means your membership fee goes almost entirely straight to the artists and a little bit towards food and beverages.

  • What should I expect at an evening of the Golden Arts Society ?

You'll show up at 7:30PM on a Saturday evening, and come into C: Landing Arts, grab a drink and start chatting with people.  There will be a topic of conversation about the upcoming music that will help spur on conversations.  Sometime around 8, we'll gather around the musicians - either up close and personal on the first level or upstairs it the "balcony" for good aerial view and acoustics.  The artist will share their music for about an hour.  We'll continue the conversations we started before the music now armed with more ideas around that topic.  It will be intimate; it will be fun; it will be evocative.

  • Should I have dinner ahead of time?

For your enjoyment, you will have the chance to sample curated wines, artisan beer, and sometimes a speciality cocktail, along with non-alcoholic options.  There will also be some tasty hors d'oeuvres, but we do recommend that you eat a bite before you come.  There are some wonderful restaurants up the street on Balboa St.  For Premium members, we will provide more substantial food at the 6:30PM champagne reception.

  • Can I arrive late?  How long will the evening last?

We gather starting at 7:30PM.  The music starts around 8PM, and we ask that everyone be there by then.  If some reason, you need to arrive late, text the number given to you at membership.  We just don’t want doorbells ringing during beautiful musical moments. The music will be about an hour, and we’ll have more drinks and discussion after the performance - till around 10PM.

  • What should I wear?

What would you wear going out for dinner on a Friday or Saturday night with a fun date?  Wear that. We want to create an environment for people to be included, and to wear what they feel good in, as well as celebrating the chance to create community around around.

  • Can I give my seats for a single performance to someone else?

In short, no.  Think of this like a gym membership meeting a book club.  We’re intending this to be about building a community around exploring the arts and that each individual person has an investment, rather than simply buying tickets to an event that can be traded in.

For single memberships, only members can attend the events. For plus one memberships, the member must attend and can bring with them any guest.

  • What's the address?

The address is 751 - 47th Ave, San Francisco, CA 94121.  This is in the Outer Richmond district of San Francisco; the cross street is Balboa.

  • How should I get to C:Landing Arts

You have several options of transit to get to C:Landing Arts.

*Drive and Park - Driving is definitely a nice option especially if you are coming over a bridge.  Parking is possible in this neighborhood, despite it being in San Francisco. However, be prepared to circle around a bit - don’t expect to park in front of the house and leave some additional time to find a spot.   If you travel 2 blocks to Golden Gate Park (on Fulton) or Safeway (La Playa & Fulton), there will be many more spots available. Just be aware, don’t leave anything visible within the car - it is the city. People like to break car windows and steal backpacks, bags, and anything they can see.

*San Francisco MUNI - the 5, 31, and 38 all stop within a couple blocks.  You can connect to SF Muni from BART or Caltrain, if you are coming from outside the city.

*Taxi or ride share (Uber & Lyft) - avoid having to park and be safe consuming beverages.   Upon departure, there is usually little wait time to pick one up from the house on a Saturday evening.
